The best intentions…

December 12, 2017

Tuesday’s are usually not a super busy day for me…usually I said. With the best intentions of starting my Christmas baking today my Tuesday filled up quickly. Both my kids were at home, yes, at the same time. Ended up at work where I’m usually not needed, then got taken out for lunch by my hot boss. Okay, my husband… ☺️ All in all great day. But that being said I didn’t start any baking. Which was going to be my topic of conversation today. So what was going to be done today will get done tomorrow instead.

Thank you to those who ‘took a look’ at my newbie blog yesterday! My learning curve is very big so please be patient with me, I will try to improve and add great stuff on a regular basis. Lots of great Christmas preparation is happening around my home so stop and check out ‘My Home Life, by (me) Suzanne. But for now I will sit with my glass of wine and tomorrow is another day to look forward too. 4A589855-3F2F-46A8-B49B-8E61EBB157D0.jpeg

Welcome to My Home Life, by Suzanne

Welcome! Thank you for visiting my blog! Being as this is my first post I should introduce myself and let you know about why I decided to embark into Blogland. I guess everyone has something they want to share. I love to scroll through social media sites, Pinterest, Intragram, Facebook. Staying connected with all different kinds of sources and resources is a mainstay in our everyday lives.

After the department I worked in (for 10+ years) was phased out I was left with a life change. No 8 to 4 routine. My youngest graduated from high school. No more kid activities, car pools, teacher interviews. My husband has a thriving, successful business with a stellar staff. Not really needed there. So where did that leave an (almost) 50 year old in her ‘what to do next stage’? After keeping myself busy with doing all the things I had been putting off, or didn’t have the time before to do I asked myself ‘Now What?’.

So I sat down with my iPad and dutifully attempted to construct a new and updated resume. Once my kids, my husband and my friend (who is concurrently taking HR classes) looked it over,  they concluded it and I needed help. Trying to sell oneself in a cover letter is all together another level of  ‘ugh’.

I have the best husband and two great kids. My daughter said to me recently as I was cooking supper, ‘Most of my friends mom’s don’t cook like you do”. Like I do? I thought. ‘What do you mean?’ I asked her. ‘You just cook really great meals, Mom. Most of my friends parents don’t cook much.’ I almost cried. Complements to parents from teens don’t happen often. So that one remark got my brain thinking… I like to cook, I like to bake, I love my family, I love my life, my brain is full of some great ideas to share… maybe I should write a blog.

So here I sit, writing my first blog – and as my 21 year old son walks by he says ‘Awesome Mom”. Enough said. I can totally do this, and am so excited to share all kinds of things from ‘My Home Life, by Suzanne’.
